Karilyn is the daughter of Willie and Christina Quon. Karilyn, a senior at Corona del Sol High School, carries a cumulative GPA of 3.8 and a class rank of 102 out of 687 students. Karilyn has been selected to the Tempe All-City Swim team for three years of her high school career. She has been a member of the CDS Varsity Swim team for four years and has been named MVP all four years. Karilyn’s honors include being names to the All-Tribune Second Team 200 yard individual medley in 2015, where she placed 3rd.
Karilyn, who has been accepted to St. Francis University in Pennsylvania as a Freshman Swimmer and has received both an athletic and academic scholarship. She has been a member of the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Team in 2013/14, 2014/15, and 2015/16. Karilyn was the Swim and Dive Captain during her senior year at CDS. Karilyn has been named a Tempe Top Teen during this 2015/2016 school year.
Some of Karilyn’s other activities include the National Honor Society, Spanish Honors Society, Clay Club and Red Kettle Club. As a Junior Karilyn was the Junior Girls Class Representative and as a Senior Karilyn is the CDS Student Body Vice President. She recently spent 10 days in the Dominican Republic volunteering with a group that provided medical services to a community village. Karilyn has been an Assistant Swim coach for the Escalante Recreation swim team and is also a Lifeguard at the Escalante recreation center.
