Dan earned varsity letters in Football and in Baseball. He was named 1989 Central Region First Team Quarterback, 1989 Central Region Second Team Punter, 1989 Phoenix Gazette All-State Second Team Quarterback and Second Team Punter, 1989 Tribune All-East Valley First String Quarterback, 1989 Class 5A All-State Second Team Quarterback, and 1989 Arizona Sports Program Network Most Valuable Player of the Game when McClintock met Westwood September 22, 1989. He also received the 1990 Scholar Athlete Award form the Valley of the Sun Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, and was named a 1989 All-East Valley Second Team Outfielder.
Dan has excelled not only in athletics, but in academics. He finished 13th in a class of 486 and posted a grade point average of 4.17. He received the Tempe Diablos Outstanding Student Award Of Excellence for English for 1989/90, he was chosen for the First Interstate Bank High School Athlete Award for April 1990, and he holds the McClintock Honors Cup this year for the athlete with the highest Grade Point Average. Dan has also earned a certificate of academic achievement and varsity academic letters for maintaining an exceptional grade point average.
In addition to special honors, Dan has been active in numerous organizations, both on and off the McClintock campus. He is a member of the National Honor Society, is in the top 3% of his class, belongs to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and currently serves as vice president of the McClintock Letter Club. Dan was co-captain of the McClintock Varsity Baseball Team. He is also active with the Lutheran Church and with the McClintock Pop Warner program.
Dan plans to attend Arizona State University next year and is the recipient of a Regent's Scholarship, awarded to students in the top 5% of their class.
Dan is the son of Roderick & Carol Moore of Tempe.
