Chad is the son of Cliff and Elena Porter, a senior at Desert Vista High School, carries a GPA of 3.8 and is a class rank of 305 out of 751 students. As a member of the Tempe All-City Wrestling teams for 2016 and 2017, Chad was named the MVP wrestler in both years, and holds the honor of most career wins in Desert Vista history. He was twice named a high school All-American and also a Greco Roman Wrestling All-American. He was a two-time state champion and four-time wrestling state qualifier in his four years at Desert Vista. Chad will wrestle for the ASU Sun Devils in the fall.

As Football team captain for 2016, Chad was a defensive leader and member of the Tempe All-City Football team.He was named MVP defensive player in 2014 and received the Jimmy Williams award in 2016.

Chad is currently involved with the Young Hispanic Leaders of America organization, as well as volunteering time with the Desert Vista Thunder Buddies, where he is paired with a disabled student. In his church community, Chad has been able to participate in a mission trip to Honduras. He has participated in Relay for Life, raising funding for cancer rresearch and he accompanies his father to volunteer with a group - Gangs to Jobs - where they provide mentoring support.
